A native of Bronx, N. Y., Ming received her Ph.D. in educational psychology from Howard University. Ming has participated as a research fellow at the Forum for Youth Investment, American Youth Policy Forum, and Columbia University. In addition to her fellowship experiences, she has taught graduate courses in psychology and multicultural counseling. Her most recent work published by the American Youth Policy Forum is titled Finding Fortune in 13 Out-of-School Time Programs. Her research interests include the socio-emotional and academic development of African American girls, the impact of religiosity and fatherhood on youth development, and the effects of out-of-school time on the academic achievement of minority youth.
