Brookes joined the Kirwan Institute as a summer legal intern during his second year of law school. Before joining Kirwan, Brookes interned in the Health and Human Services section of the Ohio Attorney General and worked as a research assistant for Professor Marc Spindelman of the Moritz College of Law. Prior to starting law school, he worked in the Department of Pharmacy at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Brookes received his B.A. and J.D. from the Ohio State University.
Research interests: poverty, health, the intersections of race and sexuality, urban political economy, and the philosophy of science/social science methods.
